# Section 8: Roadmap (Development Plan)

*(Preliminary Note: The detailed roadmap specific to SolCraft was not fully defined in the analyzed materials. The following roadmap is based on the project\\'s current state (Alpha Release Ready) indicated in the `alpha_release.md` and `verification_report.md` files, and is inspired by the development phases presented in the reference GitBook for BUYBOT Layer 2. Specific timelines and priorities are indicative and subject to confirmation and updates by the SolCraft team.)*

SolCraft\\'s roadmap outlines our strategic plan for the development, implementation, testing, and expansion of the Layer 2 platform. The plan is structured into clear phases with measurable objectives, ensuring steady progress towards our vision of a more scalable and interoperable blockchain ecosystem centered on Solana.

## 8.1. Current Status (Q2 2025)

SolCraft has successfully completed the initial development and verification phase, reaching readiness for the **Alpha Release**. Core functionalities, including L2 transaction processing, basic EVM compatibility, and crucially, the **bidirectional Bridge Engine for ETH tokens between Ethereum and Solana** (using Wormhole), have been implemented and tested. Internal verifications confirmed the system\\'s ability to handle throughput exceeding **10,000 TPS** in controlled test environments. Initial documentation and fundamental APIs are available.

**Achieved Objectives:**

* Implementation and testing of the Core Layer-2 System.
* Implementation and testing of the Sequencer.
* Implementation and testing of the Bridge Engine (ETH <-> Solana via Wormhole).
* Implementation and testing of the Compatibility Layer (EVM).
* Database Integration (PostgreSQL) for State Management.
* Implementation of fundamental security measures (HSM, rate limiting, etc.).
* Performance verification >10,000 TPS.
* Preparation of Alpha documentation (README, API docs).

## 8.2. Future Phases

**Phase 1: Alpha Launch and Consolidation (Short Term - Q2-Q3 2025)**

This phase focuses on the controlled launch of the Alpha version, gathering feedback, and consolidating the technical foundations.

* **Public Alpha Testnet Launch:** Release of the test network accessible to developers and early adopters to experiment, test dApps, and provide feedback.
* **Feedback Collection and Iteration:** Active monitoring of testnet usage, gathering feedback from the community and developers, and rapid iteration to fix bugs and improve usability.
* **Token Support Expansion (Bridge):** Begin analysis and implementation to support bridging other ERC-20 tokens and potentially SPL tokens between Solana L1 and SolCraft L2.
* **UI/UX Improvements:** Development of more intuitive user interfaces for interacting with the bridge and L2 functionalities.
* **Formal Security Audits:** Engage one or more specialized and independent audit firms to conduct thorough security audits of the smart contract code and L2 infrastructure.
* **Core SDK Development:** Finalization and documentation of the cross-platform SDK (Node.js, browser) to facilitate integration by developers.
* **Developer Documentation:** Expansion of technical documentation with detailed guides, code examples, and tutorials.

**Phase 2: Growth and Initial Adoption (Mid Term - Q4 2025 - Q1 2026)**

Focus on expanding functionalities, launching the Mainnet Alpha, and attracting early users and projects.

* **Alpha Mainnet Launch:** Release of the main network in Alpha version, initially with potentially limited features or controlled value thresholds, based on testnet results and audits.
* **Wallet Integration:** Collaboration with major Solana and Ethereum wallet providers to ensure native and simple support for SolCraft.
* **Incentive Programs:** Launch targeted programs to incentivize developers to build on SolCraft, liquidity providers to populate DeFi protocols on L2, and users to utilize the platform.
* **Performance Optimizations:** Continuous work to further optimize throughput, reduce latency, and minimize L1 publication costs, aiming to stably support >10,000 TPS under real conditions.
* **DeFi and NFT Partnerships:** Strategic collaborations with key DeFi and NFT projects to integrate SolCraft and bring popular applications to Layer 2.
* **Analytics and Monitoring Tools:** Development and deployment of dashboards and tools to monitor key network metrics, performance, and security in real-time.

**Phase 3: Ecosystem Expansion (Long Term - Q2 2026 and Beyond)**

This phase aims to achieve full protocol maturity, decentralize governance, and foster a self-sustaining ecosystem.

* **Beta/Full Mainnet Launch:** Release of more mature Mainnet versions, gradually removing initial limitations as stability and security are proven.
* **Extended Token Support and Advanced Interoperability:** Expansion of the bridge to support a wide range of tokens and potentially explore more advanced interoperability solutions (e.g., generic cross-chain messaging).
* **Sequencer/Validation Decentralization:** Introduction of mechanisms to decentralize critical components like the Sequencer, increasing censorship resistance and network robustness (if not already implemented in earlier phases).
* **DAO Governance Implementation:** Launch of a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) led by $SOLC token holders to manage the treasury and make decisions on the future development of the protocol.
* **DApp Marketplace / Ecosystem Hub:** Creation of resources to facilitate the discovery and use of dApps built on SolCraft.
* **Continuous Optimization and Research:** Ongoing investment in research and development to improve performance, security, and introduce new features based on ecosystem needs and technological innovations (e.g., Proof System upgrades, new scaling techniques).
* **Global Community Expansion:** Initiatives to grow the user and developer base internationally.

This roadmap represents a strategic guide and will be subject to adjustments based on community feedback, technical discoveries, and market dynamics. The SolCraft team is committed to building transparently and providing regular updates on progress made.
